Book sales on your web site are a grand idea, and not that difficult
to set up. There are third party providers, such as CCNow and PayPal
that will accept credit cards and send you a check for book sales
once or twice a month. For this they take a percentage of up to
ten percent and may charge a monthly fee.
This is great for newly self-published authors. You do not have
to go through the experience of getting a business account, applying
to accept major credit cards and paying the resultant monthly fees.
The disadvantage is that you cannot accept credit card payments
for in-person or telephone book sales.
The challenge is not how to offer books for sale on your web site. The challenge is to actually sell them. To do this you need to do
