Write That Book: Get it Clear, Get it Down,
Get it Out by Serena Williamson, PhD
Price $15.00 >>
Writing
Discipline
At the beginning of our project together, I am very gentle with
my clients. I encourage them to write whenever and wherever the
mood takes them, to just write; in a scribbler, on a legal pad,
on their laptop, or in the park. Just write. Now, however, you are
in the thick of it all, and your book is a serious project. Now
you treat it as you would a job, one that you love. It is not a
hobby anymore. If you seriously want to finish, hopefully putting
your work into book form has inspired and excited you. If you are
panicking, breathe, sit down and relax. It is going to be great
fun. Hang in there!
Get Dressed or Undressed for Work
You may have written in your pyjamas before, but not now. This
is business. If you are writing in the morning, get up, do whatever
breathing, meditation or exercises you do to start the day, EAT
a decent breakfast, get dressed and go into your “home office”
to write.
If you are writing in the evening after work, get out of your office
clothes and put on your relaxing writing clothes, and go into your
office to work.
