The Psychic's Guide by Sabine BlaisThe Tarot, I-Ching, Basic Palmistry, Psychometry

In this lesson we will discuss the Tarot, the I-Ching Oracle, basic palmistry, psychometry and basic Spirit communication.

The Tarot

A Tarot deck has 78 cards. It is divided into two smaller components: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana has 22 cards. Each card is a universal symbol or archetype representing an aspect of human life. The Minor Arcana has 56 cards: 40 pip or number cards, and 16 Court cards. The Minor Arcana is very similar to a deck of Playing cards. The only exception is that there is an additional court figure, the Knight. The suits of the Minor Arcana are: Wands (Fire), Swords (Air), Cups (Water), and Pentacles (Earth). The four figures in the court cards are: Pages, Knights, Queens and Kings.

I strongly recommend the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. It is excellent for beginners because of its vivid and suggestive imagery, with illustrations done by artist Pamela Colman-Smith. It is great for developing the Sixth Sense. This deck comes in a yellow box with a picture of the Magician on it. In this book, you have all the meanings of the Major and the Minor Arcana of the Tarot, along with some different spreads you can try. Take the time to study the meaning of each card, and practice interpreting the cards in a spread.
