What
is a Psychic?
A psychic is an ordinary person you could pass by on the street
and never even notice. A psychic can be a man or a woman, a young
adult, middle-aged or elderly, or of any linguistic or religious
background. Psychics can drive a car, raise children, walk their
dogs, or work full-time. They can wear jeans, running shoes, ride
a bicycle, or go rollerblading.
People have the tendency to assume that psychics do not fit in normal
society. Psychics have the undeserved reputation of being bizarre, eccentric
and obscure. For a long time, they were portrayed as being mere fortune
tellers, wearing colorful turbans and gazing at a crystal ball. Even though the
gypsies are great psychics and follow a long tradition, this image offers a
limited view of what a psychic today really is.
What a Psychic really is
First of all, the term fortune teller is inadequate to realistically
describe a psychic. There is so much more to a psychic’s work than
just impressing people with accurate readings about their future,
love relationships or money. Foretelling the future is just a small
aspect of the true meaning of being psychic, like the single facet
of a diamond. The true nature of psychics has been hidden by a cloud
of mystery and misunderstanding that has generated myths and fears
into people’s imagination. The fear and confusion about psychics
is directly related to the fear of the unknown...
