The Path to Cure: The Whole Art of HealingSequential Therapy?

Patty Smith’s office was located in a beautiful stone century home just east of Ottawa, Ontario. I felt an assured calm the moment we crossed the threshold. My Step-Mom had offered to accompany us in case I needed help keeping Jordan entertained so that I could focus on what Patty was saying. Naturally, my Step-Mom was also eager to learn how to address his condition from a clinical standpoint, as she was in the throes of her studies in Homeopathy at Patty and Rudolf Verspoor’s International School, The Hahnemann College for Heilkunst. Patty and Rudi are actually married and they dedicate their lives to furthering this particular art of medicine.

Patty began to describe Heilkunst as a system that takes traditional Homeopathy to a whole new level. From what I could tell, the remedies were just a part of a whole approach to lift all of the physical and emotional shocks Jordan had sustained since birth. As I explained our prior experience with the other Classical Homeopath, Patty told me that this is very common as the remedies were being prescribed based on symptoms alone as opposed to cause. Also, Classical Homeopathy interpreted Hahnemann to say one remedy per person as opposed to one remedy per disease. A Heilkunstler will treat for all concordant disease simultaneously.

It was also first explained to me that when Dr. Samuel Hahnemann’s body of work entitled the Organon der Heilkunst was translated into English, a very important discernment between imbalance and disease was overlooked. The physicians attempting to interpret his work at the time mistakenly reported the two sides of disease as being the same thing.
