Homeopathy,
Magical Cure?
I had heard vague positive things about an ancient healing system
called Homeopathy. “Why not?” I thought. “Nothing
else is working.” I called a local Homeopath and learned that
she was interested in offering a basic introductory class in my
area. If I would gather together 7-9 people in my home, I could
host weekly sessions and have my session paid for. So for 10 weeks
I learned how to prescribe at a very basic level using homeopathic
remedies for acute first aid circumstances. I really had no clue
why Homeopathic remedies worked, but I did know that they were based
on natural substances like minerals, plants and animals. And more
importantly, they could do no harm!
It was Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the 18th-century German physician,
who had become disillusioned with the side effects of medical treatments
and he first applied “Like Cures Like” to cure malaria.
While investigating the properties of cinchona bark (quinine), he
took a small dose and discovered that he experienced effects very
much like the disease transmitted by an infected mosquito. This
method of “proving” substances in a “crude form”
would lead him to discover the range of symptoms each substance
was capable of causing. His genius led him to dilute the crude matter
in water in stages, vigorously shaking the solution as he went.
When the “potentized” remedy was fed to a patient with
malaria, he was miraculously cured! How could dilute matter become
stronger than the patient’s disease?
This is so counter intuitive that most people new to homeopathy
have some significant challenges wrapping their heads around the
concept, including me. Modern physics will even admit that our seemingly
solid bodies are really just dense fields of energy. Barbara Ann
Brennan worked as a research scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space
Flight Center. She trained in the area of Bioenergetics and Core
Energetic Therapy at the Institute for Psychophysical Synthesis
in Washington, D.C. She has illustrated in her book, Light Emerging,
The Journey of Personal Healing that in order to stay healthy,
we must attempt to surround ourselves with “positive energy”.
Nature, animals and even food pulse at an energetic frequency beneficial
to humanity. She suggests that if we match, or increase, the energetic
frequency of what we ingest, we have the power to cure ourselves.
She goes on to share her concerns about how our foods are so laden
with herbicides and pesticides that the pulse of our foods no longer
resonates at the required eight megahertz per minute required by
our bodies to remain healthy which seriously compromises our ability
to absorb nutrients. She goes on to suggest that foods grown organically
are the best option available to us.
