The Path to Cure: The Whole Art of HealingJordan’s Final Effort to “Hang On”

A friend of mine suggested I take Jordan to see another Homeopath who practiced a different approach to Homeopathy. I was fairly skeptical by this time and I shook off her suggestion until my mother, who coincidently was also studying Homeopathy at the time, fortuitously switched to study with a new school where a new system of thought was championed. I knew based on my limited knowledge, that I was in no position to treat Jordan’s chronic issues myself, so I made an appointment at the Hahnemann College for Heilkunst Clinic about five minutes from my home.

The week before Jordan’s appointment with the Homeopathic Physician, Patty Smith, Dean of The Hahnemann College for Heilkunst, we found ourselves back in a crisis with very impacted stool and another hospital visit looming. Patty encouraged me to come to her home to pick up a homeopathic remedy to try to address Jordan’s immediate needs.

Both of Patty’s enthusiastic daughters met us at their front door with domestic rats in hand. At the age of four, Jordan found this a rare treat and enjoyed a few moments molesting the well-loved rodents. Patty and I chatted about Jordan’s condition and she handed me a little brown dropper bottle with a label and some writing on it. At a glance, I was surprised to see that there were a number of remedies, including Alumina, contained in the one bottle. I did not recognize most of them and the potencies were higher than what I, and the previous Homeopath, were accustomed to using. The contents appeared as innocuous as water, and Patty suggested I put a drop in Jordan’s water and let him sip on it throughout the day until the stubborn stool emerged. I was very hopeful.
