Prologue: Beginning at the Happy Ending
 Being
raised on modern day animated fairy tales, I admit to being used
to – and preferring – happy endings. Perhaps that has
been part of the problem throughout my life, yearning and searching
for that elusive happy ending, and not realizing that it is precisely
within the journeying itself where life lies hidden and waiting,
not at the happy ending.
I still managed to arrive somewhere that is reasonably happy. While
I hope that this is not quite the end yet, I do call it the beginning
of my happy ending. I am now living a life that I could never have
imagined possible throughout the darker chapters of my past. I am
happily married to André, who most certainly has to be one
of the top three most wonderful men in the world (my Dad and brother
Gary would be the other two). The miracle for me is that after ten
years together, I am not only still married, but still head over
heels in love with him. Even more miraculous is that he is still
head over heels in love with me!
