about book coach press > history
Book Coach Press began in the summer of 2001. Our first client,
Craig Nathanson in San
Francisco, California, spent 15-minutes meeting with founder, Dr.
Serena Williamson. Afterwards, he was inspired to complete a writing
project that had been plaguing him for over 10 years!
The company began as a coaching business, working with people who
always wanted to write a book, helping them to clarify their book
ideas, choose
their topic, create
a great title and chapter
outline and get writing.
As people completed their book writing, however, the company emerged
into something larger. Our clients became frustrated with the struggle
and time lag of dealing with book agents, and we were appalled at
the quotes they were receiving for self-publishing. We knew we could
do it more easily and cheaply. We put together an editorial
team and a graphic
design team, and made arrangements with printing houses. Three
months later our first six books were launched.
As people needed to market and sell their books, we expanded to
include marketing coaching, speaking coaching, web site design and
the creation of brochures, business cards and press kits.
